Chair in Archaeology

Full-time, continuing (Level E) position in the School of Historical and European Studies.

Applications are invited for the Chair in Archaeology (Level E). The successful applicant will provide academic leadership to the Archaeology Program, which is located in the School of Historical and European Studies and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The successful applicant will have a strong international reputation in archaeological research and publication, extensive experience in teaching and supervision, and relevant experience in University administration. 
The successful applicant will have expertise in a relevant area of archaeology with a commitment to maintaining the broad approach to world archaeology that characterises the Program. The present teaching and research strengths of the School include Australia, the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as a strong tradition of research in archaeological theory and a developing focus on archaeological science.

The position will be available from January 2011.
