Summary:  Establish strong and enduring relationships with the Victorian & Commonwealth Governments, local government and the communities across the north which surround our campus.  

  • Full time, Fixed term until 6/6/23
  • Location Independent 
  • [HEO7] – TRP $103,532 - $113,892 inclusive of 17% superannuation 

About the position

The successful applicant will liaise with senior staff across the University to support the development of high-quality, timely and succinct briefing materials on government relations, strategic projects and partnership matters for the Vice-Chancellor. In addition, this role will play a key role in preparing presentations, correspondence and other communications material as appropriate. 

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships internally and externally and to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders on a range of sensitive and complex issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the delivery of strategic projects and partnerships consistent with wider institutional objectives.
  • Exceptional writing skills for a range of audiences, and experience in preparing clear, succinct and high quality briefing materials
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency developing presentations
  • Relevant degree qualifications or extensive experience in Marketing or Strategic Communications

The University’s Health and Safety Procedure – COVID-19 Vaccination and Other Measures, requires staff engaged to perform work onsite at La Trobe University to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are exempt from being vaccinated due to a recognised medical contraindication.  This position will require the incumbent to work onsite.  As such, an offer of employment will be conditional upon the applicant being Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 or medically exempt from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, and providing satisfactory evidence of their vaccination or exemption status to the University.
