About the position

Are you passionate about strategic planning, governance, and data-driven decision-making? La Trobe University is seeking a dynamic Strategy and Planning Advisor to join our Office of the Provost. This pivotal role supports the strategic coordination and operational delivery of key initiatives, enabling complex planning processes across the University.

You’ll work closely with senior committees, academic leaders, and planning teams to ensure our coursework portfolio and business planning align with institutional goals. Your expertise will help shape the future of academic workload planning, course intake strategies, and subject portfolio reviews.

 Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-level executive support to senior University committees, including agenda setting, policy interpretation, and reporting.
  • Enable and execute planning cycles such as Academic and Casual Workload Planning, Load Planning, and Course Viability Monitoring.
  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets to inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning platforms and processes.
  • Deliver training and consultancy advice across Schools and Divisions.
  • Model positive leadership behaviours and support team development.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent expertise.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights, process and prepare reports, committee papers and policy advice.
  • Proven experience in supporting business planning, performance review, and workload modelling.
  • A deep understanding of academic and administrative policy frameworks.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead change across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills; capable of managing multiple projects.
