La Trobe University is seeking an exceptional academic in Nursing and Midwifery to join our renowned La Trobe Rural Health School—the largest rural health school in Australia. We welcome applications from qualified candidates at either Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) level, depending on experience and expertise.
This is a unique opportunity to shape nursing and midwifery education in rural and regional communities while contributing to innovative teaching and impactful research.
Your role will include:
- Designing, coordinating and delivering high-quality subjects across nursing and midwifery programs
- Engaging in innovative curriculum development and blended/online teaching methods
- Leading or contributing to research aligned with La Trobe’s key health themes
- Mentoring students and/or junior academics (Level C)
- Developing strong industry and community partnerships that support teaching and research
- Supporting course accreditation and quality assurance processes
What we’re looking for:
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (and preferably as a Midwife)
- A demonstrated track record in teaching excellence and student engagement
- Evidence of research activity and publication (stronger expectation at Level C)
- Experience in curriculum leadership and staff mentoring (essential for Level C)
- Passion for rural health and improving healthcare access and outcomes
