About the position

La Trobe Sport is a University department with the strategic goal of developing La Trobe University into the University of choice for Sport in Australia.

Duties at this level may include:

 • Administration of the La Trobe University Elite Athlete Program including but not limited to: advocating for athletes; record keeping; internal and external reporting; marketing; oversight of the mailbox; athlete case management; event administration; support athletes in gaining flexibility in assessments, exams and cross-institutional study; support work, placement and career balance and support all policy updates.

• Administration and development of the Sports Performance Hub including but not limited to bookings, athlete testing, casual staff training, client liaison, and policy updates.

• Coordination of strength and conditioning, nutrition and wellbeing programs for elite athletes with relevant staff and identification of further opportunities for program growth in the Elite Athlete Program.

• Identifying and recommending beneficial process changes to contribute to the operational improvement of high performance sport programs within La Trobe Sport.

• Assisting the Senior Coordinator, Representative and High Performance Sport with oversight of University Basketball League and any other high performance sport competitions.

• Communicate and the ability to build effective and professional relationships within La Trobe University as well as with external organisations, to support and represent La Trobe Sport.

• Coordination and administrative duties associated with the University Nationals Competition

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

• Relevant undergraduate qualifications or work experience in sport administration, sport and exercise science or related areas.

• Relevant experience in the administration and delivery of programs and/or events.

• Established understanding of university practices, systems and processes relevant to La Trobe Sport and/or elite athletes.  

• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop professional working relationships with colleagues, students and other stakeholders.

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established processes and contribute positively to an effective team environment.

• Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
