About the position

This position will develop strategic relationships with our senior leadership group across the University, and provide them with integrated solutions on HR initiatives and activities across the full range of HR dimensions.  You will work closely with various teams within HR to provide consistent high-level advice and consultancy services on a range of HR strategies and projects, relating to performance management, change management, strategic workforce planning and complex case management.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A degree, extensive management expertise and supporting experience, or postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing and consulting on a broad range of HR issues including performance management, talent, industrial relations, workforce planning and change management.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary HR practices and strategies including strategic workforce planning, performance management, remuneration and reward and organisational change and reviews.
  • Proven ability to manage change in a complex and often challenging work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships.
  • Strong ‘team’ mindset - the ability to see and leverage strengths in others as well as your own, to contribute the success of the Business Partnering Team and HR Division

The University’s Health and Safety Procedure – COVID-19 Vaccination and Other Measures, requires staff engaged to perform work onsite at La Trobe University to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are exempt from being vaccinated due to a recognised medical contraindication.  This position will require the incumbent to work onsite.  As such, an offer of employment will be conditional upon the applicant being Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 or medically exempt from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, and providing satisfactory evidence of their vaccination or exemption status to the University.
