  • HEO7 - TRP $105,603 - $116,170 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation

About the position

Widening Participation and Outreach is responsible for activities and programs that inform post-secondary school aspiration and raise student achievement, as well as academic pathway and enabling programs for school students and mature-aged students. We are also the key contact point for academic outreach activities that connect secondary schools with our academic community.

In2science is an innovative and award-winning educational initiative designed to increase science and maths engagement in secondary school students in Victoria. In2science places volunteer university science and maths students in school science and mathematics classes over a 10-week period. The Manager oversees the operation of the program in the universities and schools, manages the eMentoring platform and reports to the In2science Program Director.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with successful experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in the tertiary sector or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
  • High level Information Technology skills and ability to learn new programs quickly.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

The University’s Health and Safety Procedure – COVID-19 Vaccination and Other Measures, requires staff engaged to perform work onsite at La Trobe University to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are exempt from being vaccinated due to a recognised medical contraindication.  This position will require the incumbent to work onsite.  As such, an offer of employment will be conditional upon the applicant being Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 or medically exempt from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, and providing satisfactory evidence of their vaccination or exemption status to the University.
