About the position
The Department of Languages & Cultures at La Trobe University offers a broad range of Asian and European languages alongside a rich diversity of disciplines that encourage meaningful engagement with society and culture. This department is situated within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Department of Languages & Cultures is inviting applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term Lecturer position, specifically requiring the ability to lecture in Hindi. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum designed for non-native speakers and will also provide support to the broader South Asian Studies program.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Ability to supervise, or co-supervise, honours and postgraduate students.
