Summary
The La Trobe Law School seek a Senior Administration Officer to provide a range of support services within the Law School.
About the position
We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented Senior Administration Officer to join our dynamic team at the La Trobe Law School. In this role, you will support a range of human resources administrative functions, including the submission and monitoring of position requests via PageUp, and the coordination of key staff review processes such as academic probation, Career Success, and Adjunct renewals.
This includes coordinating formal and informal meetings and visits by international, national, and local stakeholders. You’ll perform a variety of tasks requiring sound understanding of institutional rules, regulations, and procedures, and apply this expertise to make informed decisions that meet service expectations with a strong focus on quality and customer service.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparing of agendas, minutes and supporting papers and briefing notes.
- Demonstrated ability to have an understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide feedback to support decision making.
- Demonstrated capacity to deal with matters tactfully, discreetly and in the strictest confidence.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in administrative processes.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
- High level proficiency in computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the use of the internet as a research tool.
