About the position
As a key contributor to the Nursing & Midwifery teaching program, you will play an important role in shaping operational decisions related to resource and service provision. You’ll identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and continuity, driving continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.
You’ll work as part of the technical team (FTS), delivering customer focused technical and laboratory support to meet the teaching and research needs of the campus. Your responsibilities will include testing, calibrating and maintaining equipment for the teaching and research laboratories, as well as supporting staff and students by assisting with training and operation guidance.
This role supports the practical classes of the Nursing & Midwifery students and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins, between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. This will be rostered on a rotational basis.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- A recognised nursing qualification with subsequent relevant experience in a clinical laboratory, OR an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience within a clinical laboratory or nursing environment.
- Familiarity with audio-visual and computer equipment would be considered advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
- Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
- Demonstrated understanding as to the range and type of medical equipment and consumables used in tertiary nursing education programs and clinical teaching laboratories, with an understanding of simulation theory, equipment, and technology.
