This position plays a crucial role in advancing the university’s philanthropic strategy by identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing relationships with trusts, foundations, and other grant-making bodies. The position involves close collaboration with academic and professional staff, including the research grants team, to ensure that applications align with institutional priorities and donor interests, and that successful grants are stewarded effectively.
Key responsibilities include program administration, coordination of regular meetings to promote grant opportunities, research into the philanthropic sector, and maintenance of grant calendars and records. The Senior Coordinator also supports the development and submission of high-quality proposals, assists with post-award administration, prepares progress and impact reports, and contributes to team planning and budget monitoring for philanthropic income.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated experience in developing innovative solutions and strategies, and the capacity to foster effective relationships both within and outside the organisation, particularly with donors. They will also have a proven track record in project and administrative management, policy development, and supporting philanthropic engagement, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively to achieve continuous improvement and organisational objectives.
