About the position

A Level B, teaching-focused academic is responsible for developing curriculum, delivering high-quality teaching, and undertaking scholarly work relevant to their discipline or professional field. The position contributes to both teaching and research in English and requires relevant research experience as well as a record of publications.

The role includes coordinating and teaching subjects through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and workshops across online, blended, and face-to-face modes, as well as providing timely and constructive feedback to students. It also involves contributing to curriculum design and review, supporting supervision of higher degree research students, evaluating teaching using evidence-based approaches, contributing to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching, and undertaking relevant administrative duties as required.

 

Skills and Experience

  • A PhD submitted for examination, or very close to submission for examination in the relevant discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
