About the position

Reporting to the Dean, the Director, MBA leads the academic, strategic, and operational direction of the La Trobe AI MBA, ensuring it remains rigorous, market-leading, and responsive to advances in the contemporary business environment.

This role engages proactively with industry and internal and external stakeholders to ensure leading edge  curriculum and alignment with industry needs. The role works across departments and university teams to deliver an excellent student experience and employability outcomes, enrolment growth, and a strong external reputation through rankings and accreditation.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a PhD or equivalent standing in a relevant field or have extensive senior-level professional experience, with a proven track record of leadership.  They should demonstrate excellence and innovation in learning and teaching, including course design, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, as well as the ability to inspire and guide academic teams in a collaborative environment.

A strong grasp of modern business practices—particularly digital transformation, AI-powered decision-making, and responsible leadership—is essential, alongside demonstrated success in engaging with industry, professional bodies, and external stakeholders. Exceptional communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills are also required.
