About the position

This role supports the practical classes of the Nursing & Midwifery students and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins, between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm.

As the field has evolved, there is a growing need for healthcare simulation and along with it, an increased demand for skilled simulation support staff.

Working under the direction of the Regional Cluster Coordinator and the supervision of the Senior Technical Officer, this position will provide a broad range of technical, administrative, and facilities- based support to assist teaching staff and students to achieve teaching, learning and research outcomes associated with the Rural Health School.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training OR an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience within a clinical laboratory or nursing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
  • High level proficiency in computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the use of the internet as a research tool.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual and computer equipment.
  • Understanding of medical equipment and consumables used in nursing education.
