The position holder will have a strong understanding of Digital technology and pedagogy and work in teaching teams to develop curriculum, design effective learning opportunities for students at a tertiary level in Initial Teacher Education programs and other related education programs. The position holder will have a strong understanding and experience of designing learnings on a range of platforms and application of skills in digital learning. The position holder will have a research track-record and a program of research that will inform evidence-based approaches to research projects, course and teaching delivery.
The position holder may be required to undertake travel to other La Trobe University campuses as negotiated.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Demonstrated experience in Digital Technologies in education and an understanding of current research and trends that inform quality pedagogy in a range of learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience in developing innovative curriculum using evidence-based approaches for quality learning opportunities with Digital Technologies in education.
- PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
- Demonstrated competence in teaching and curriculum development.
- Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to opportunity
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, or co-supervise postgraduate students.
- Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
- High level organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.
- High level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Evidence of the ability to work as a member of a team in a co-operative and collegial manner.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Digital Technologies in school settings.
- Understand and practice effective instructional design for online learning.
- Experience in the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies and evidence of success in securing research funding subject to opportunity and level of appointment.
- Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or similar evidence of professional preparation for HE teaching
